As much as Ghost wished he could’ve dragged Vasa out of the chaos that day, the boy was much too stubborn. They had argued back and forth until the oneiroi got distracted enough to lose him from his line of sight. He knew the kid had other siblings to look for -- the Rhodes, he learned eventually, because it’s not like it was hard to find out about a Vasa in New York who frequented the same events he did --, but Ghost didn’t care about them, to be frank.
It was with enormous relief that he found out the hunter was only standing guard of the ICU, as opposed to laying in a bed inside of it. “Keiki,” he called as a greeting, not really bothering to ask for permission before pulling him into a hug. He needed the contact, to comfort himself. He knew they were on different sides of the same war, but he’d still feel like he lost a part of himself if he had let Vasa get hurt in this. “Are you alright? How are you doing, Vasa?”
