Berlioz wasn't sure what possessed him to go to his mother's house so late. It was nearing midnight, which wasn't late for Berli by any means, but he knew for the average person it was. He was so high he might as well have touched the clouds. That didn't stop him from standing in front of the door to his mother's house, hesitant to go in. His night had been rough. He was an emotional mess and he didn't quite understand why. He thought cocaine would do the trick but that only skyrocketed his anxiety and made him on high alert. Berlioz knew the dangers of mixing substances all too well, but when he decided to crush up oxy and put it up his nose he didn't care. He hadn't felt this fucked up since the inci-- the overdose. He still hated calling it that but he knew he couldn't just call it an 'incident' forever. Despite his state he knew he wasn't about to collapse no matter how much his legs felt like gelatin and his head so dizzy it felt like it was on a sped-up carousel. His thoughts were cloudy and all he could think about was the ache in his chest from pent up emotion. He didn't remember getting to his destination. His thoughts were clouded with agony. Day after day he felt miserable. Some days were better than others but every night the cycle started over and he nosedived into any substance that he thought might numb him. Yet, there he was with tears streaming down his blotchy red face from glossed over eyes. Berlioz finally was able to reach into his pocket for his forgotten keys. Upon realizing they weren't there he just tried the door only to unexpectedly find it open. Berlioz walked in and closed the door, not realizing how loud the sound was behind him. His mother was probably asleep, but he wasn't thinking clearly. His focus was shot but he did notice the light in the hall was on. His feet walked in the direction of the light, stumbling through the dimly lit hall and bumping into wall as he turned the corner to the kitchen where he found his mother. For a few moments he just stared at her, hoping he hadn't frightened her. He should have never came here. Not high. Not this high. It was clear as day how fucked up he was and how broken he felt inside. Berlioz continued to look at her before breaking the brief silence. "You should lock your doors at night. It's not safe, mama," he managed to slur out as he held onto the wall for support.
