Everyone is a Hero, when nobody is!
When i was a child I wanted to become a photographer. I wanted to capture nice sceneries, beautiful people and exotic cultures. When i grew up I found out that everyone except me is a photographer. Some one is doing beutiful sceneries, some is one is capturing beautful people and some one is doing exotic cultures. They have best cameras, best equipment and best techniques. Whether they have imagination or not is a random factor. Everybody is doing brilliant images that nobody has time to see
When I was a child I wanted to be a writer. Some one who wants to describe the wit of rich civilzations, some one who portray the literary genious of by-gone and up-coming greats and some one writes the stories about day to day events in a very captivating manner. When I grew up I realized that everyone except me is a writer. Some in writing blogs about amazing and rich civilizations, some one is doing columns and pod-casts about literary giants and some one is keeping a diary of day-to-day events to be published as a book. Whether they have the fascination and "hairat/wonder" is a random factor. Everyone is authoring books that no-one wants to read
When I was a child I wanted to do music, radio and film. I wanted to be some one who created brilliant melodies that touch the heart of generations, some one do fascinating radio programs to enthrall audiences for ages and some one who makes amazing art movies that have everlasting impact. But when I grow up I found out that everone is making cheap one-line repetitive high-on-beat music. I found out that everyone is doing pod-casts and sound bytes through cheap sound programs and social media and I discovered that everyone is making cheap tore-down versions of movie clips. Whether they have inspiration is a random factor. Everyone is doing fun-staff on sound, images and melodies that no-one is following.
So what a strange world we are living now. Everyone is a photographer. Everyone is an artist. Everyone is a writer. Everyone is a journalist. Everyone is a filmaker. Everyone is a musician. Everyone is everything. Those who are not, are the ones who forward all that. All inspiration, fascination and imagination will either be none or too cheap.
Now Everyone is a hero, since nobody is. There will be no truely big hits, no great stories, no univerally accepted amazing images and melodies as everyone will be competing for honors themselves. So I sit back and wonder, why no one will be happy. There is no true greatness on offer except being the best spectator!
