There are cobwebs on my ceiling that I see every night before I close my eyes and surrender to sleep, and I wonder if they act like dreamcatchers. I wonder if the corners of my room hold the pieces of you that I've kept close for fear of losing you completely, and I wonder if they know that it's been four years and I still haven't figured out how to let you go. I wonder if I opened up my heart-- if I cracked open my chest and split open the only organ I know like the back of my goddamned hand-- I wonder if it'd look anything like the empty spaces of my bedroom, forgotten and dark and full of spiders.
