T he Doctor knows what’s coming, and prepares for it and he simply knows it’s going to hurt, but then again he didn’t expect for River, lovely brilliant River to suddenly pop up and just get in the way. 

H e screams, too loud, and he just knows he messed up, he messed up big time, he runs to her, the other coward running away a having no idea he just dug his own grave, he holds her seeing the blood flood out of her and he knows there isn’t much he can really do, he places a hand on the wound, softly as if not to hurt her and he knows exactly what he is going to do.
