Ingredients: 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter. 2 cups granulated sugar. 4 large eggs. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder. 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips. 1 cup chopped cherries fresh or frozen, pitted. 1/2 cup chopped walnuts optional. 1/2 teaspoon almond extract optional. Powdered sugar for dusting optional.
Instructions: Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan and preheat the oven to 350F 175C. Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl or over a stove until completely melted. Add the granulated sugar and stir until fully incorporated. Once smooth and glossy, beat in the eggs and vanilla extract. Mix the salt, all-purpose flour, and cocoa powder in a different bowl. Mixing until just combined, gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ones. Add the chopped walnuts, chopped cherries, and chocolate chips if using. Add some almond extract for flavor if you'd like. Evenly distribute the brownie batter after pouring it into the baking pan that has been prepared. Preheat the oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out slightly moistened. Don't overbake them; you want them to be soft and fluffy. After taking out of the oven, allow the brownies to cool in the pan for roughly ten minutes. You can add a decorative touch by dusting powdered sugar on top once it has cooled slightly. Enjoy your delectable Chocolate Cherry Brownies by cutting them into squares!
