Something is wrong with my dog. Earlier in the week she choked on her food but seemed to recover. I rubbed her throat and it seemed to help, but since then she’s been making gagging/choking sounds on walks occasionally and tonight she started licking her lips and hiccuping and now she’s drooling everywhere (she NEVER drools, even when anxious). She’s laying down but not actually sleeping (she’s trembling; she never trembling at bedtime) and I keep obsessively checking her breathing (doesn’t seem to be an issue). I am now too terrified to sleep and it is 1:40 AM on a work night. I might have to call in tomorrow. I’m hoping that maybe it’s just because of the new food (it’s from the same brand that I always buy, just a different line with grains since they were on the limited formula and I mixed them together to introduce slowly), but I only have them the new food today, and that doesn’t explain how she’s been acting the rest of the week.
