We are yet to be evolved..............................

Chhapak is a recently released Bollywood movie which is based on the life of Laxmi Aggarwal ( an acid attack victim from New Delhi). The film clearly portrays how her life changed after that horrendous event. The film brings to light the struggle of acid attack victims and how they go through all the societal traumas.

Now coming to the video above..........in this video Deepika Padukone goes for a social experiment in the marketplace with the similar facial look as in her film Chhapak along with some other acid attack survivors. The reaction of common people in itself reflects the kind of thinking that still persists in our society. Yesss.....we still believe in what our prehistoric ancestors used to believe. Still, in our so-called modern society, beauty is all about looks and facial features. We still believe in the fact that physical appearance is the reflection of delicacy and beauty. Why so?? Aren't we evolved? Let's be evolved, guys, let's actually treat them equally, the way we want ourselves to be treated.

Let's not call them victims, rather they are survivors. They survived the storm, they are far stronger and bolder than us. Maybe our abhorrence to them is a reflection of our inner imperfections, maybe we don't have enough love and understanding left in our society that we can share it with those who need it. Anyways such a society where love is still seldom found cannot be a beautiful society.

The message is clear:

Looks cannot be someone's identity and if they are then our society is imperfect and ugly.
