Chiaro’s Dream

The day was warm, yet I was cool in the shaded path I traveled. Step by solid step, my boots scraped against the white rock below me. I was nearly surrounded by this unusual stone; a natural tunnel carved out of the side of a cliff. The tunnel slithered for a long way in a mixture of curves and straight lines. If I turned to my right, I could see a beautiful white beach and blue shore, the ocean’s perpetual currents splashing against the bright sand as if to speak to me. I could not find the end of my journey, but did I really want to? I was at peace here inside this everlasting white snake.
