These images are precious records of Izzy Stradlin and Duff McKagan in the studio during 1992. The meeting took place at the Chicago Recording Company in Illinois, during the recording sessions for the debut album of Izzy's solo band, the Ju Ju Hounds. Even after Izzy left Guns N' Roses at the end of 1991, the connection between the two remained intact; Duff not only visited his friend, but also contributed bass and backing vocals on several tracks of the album.
The atmosphere of the photos reveals an absolute creative freedom, far from the pressure and colossal productions of stadiums. In the images, we see the musicians focused on arrangements and rehearsals in an organic and relaxed way. It is a rare glimpse into a period where Izzy was seeking his musical roots, adopting a more raw aesthetic, with his characteristic dreadlocks and flannel shirts, proving that the essence of rock lies in simplicity and true friendship. ☺️🌸
