i tried sketching mele’s dad, the chief of her tribe, tried giving him some tattooing. i looked up the symbolism behind polynesian tattoos, and i put a lot of oceanic symbolism in there, bc their tribe is supposed to be the “ocean tribe”. now i need to name him - and i also included a mele for size comparison thoughts? input? suggestions? anything i should fix in his tattoos? i was trying to incorporate polynesian elements in the same way the canon draws from chinese, japanese, and aboriginal north american cultures, and i looked up these things to try to do it right but if im not, please let me know! i want to do this right. edit: added mele's mother, who ive dubbed leilani, and i named her dad keone
