AAAHHHH!!! I just watched the confession episode and TAICHI THIS IS WHY YOU ARE A PROBLEM, MY DUDE! He keeps making selfish decisions that show a lack of regard for Chihaya. He left the club without saying anything to her right at a crucial time when she needed to recruit new members and then put guilt on her for rejecting him! Like, dude, I know you're upset, but you're intentionally hurting the girl you claim to love! Do you actually care about her or are you just hung up on your own inferiority complex!!! If you like her, then SUPPORT her! Don't do this hot and cold routine! You're better than this, Taichi!!!
@cabbage-foam do you mind if we continue the conversation through reblogs?
There are a lot of things that went wrong in that scene according to me, and I’m not necessarily talking about the events per se but how they were executed. First of it was coming that Taichi would leave the club, since the very reason he helped Chihaya, and plays karuta in general is Chihaya, he knows the only way to have Chihaya look at him is through karuta (as I have read people say “To Taichi, Chihaya is karuta. Just like to Chihaya, Arata is karuta.” It also understandable, he feels hurt, the very reason he played rejected him, he can’t play, there is no reason and the club would just bring bad memories to him, the best thing was for him to stay away but the way he did it was wrong. He didn’t tell anyone besides Komano and Nishida, it sucks that the club has to suffer but oh well, also isn’t it weird how no one noticed the awkwardness between Taichi and Chihaya? plot convenient much. The other off thing was Miyauchi-sensei (the club advisor)’s action, it felt very ooc for her to just give the news to the club in the middle of the demos, she would have waited until that to throw the bomb but I guess we needed more drama.
