Day 25 :Chinque Terre -all 5 villages.
Today I visited all 5 villages of Chinque Terre. Riomaggiore, Manorola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso. Each was absolutely charming and well worth the visit, though I was convinced at one point that I’d become trapped in an Escheresque Hellscape that always involves climbing stairs. In Manorola we got of the train, walked up multiple flights of stairs and around about 35 corners over 20 minutes - only to arrive at the other end of the train stations. There is definitely some weird kind of geographical anomaly at play in this place.
Got crazy sun burnt again too.
Off to Milan tomorrow. The last city in Italy, before heading back home via Singapore. I’ll be sad to leave, but am missing @kevinreader a lot as this is the longest amount of time we’ve spent apart in nearly 9 years.
