Chiss!Dedra and Thrawn arguing who's the stupidest person in the Empire? 👀
Omg, thanks for the ask!!!
I've been rotating this in my brain forever and I promised myself I would draw something good for it before I answered this/went back to university. Alas, I forgot (silly goose that I am), I am back at uni, and I can only slap down this thing.
Behold: Drame'eros and her 6000+ files on who is who of the upper echelons of the Empire vs Thrawn and his crumpled sticky note with a list of 5 homies he contacts semi-regularly.
More lore/discussion below the cut
First: thank you to @ungimbaledlaser for helping me brainstorm Dedra's Chiss names <3 <3 <3 We've got Stybla'drame'eros as her full name, Ladrame for her core name, and Drame'eros for her spy era.
Second: I have Lore/a fic in progress but I have no idea when I'll ever get around to posting it. Important thing to know imo is that Drame'eros has a special mask thing that makes her look human. I'm pretty sure the wiki lists it as a cyber mask?? But yeah, she's got that. Her mission is supposed to be a bit more covert than Thrawn's. (Kallus is also a Chiss Spy in this AU because his Rebels concept art originally had him as a Chiss and I think that would have been such an interesting concept to explore both with him being Chiss and with these three interacting. He also has the cyber mask).
Third: I'm taking "stupidest person in the Empire" to mean "person who has inconvenienced/annoyed me the most." I don't think it would be much of an argument. Thrawn and Drame'eros work in different parts of the galaxy; Thrawn's out in woop woop and Drame'eros is on Coruscant. I don't think Thrawn would know most of the people that Drame'eros lists unless it's someone he's worked with too. I also don't think he'd care all that much about knowing every 'important' Imperial unless he'd crossed paths with them or had to use them to his advantage. Drame'eros, however, is taking notes on whoever Thrawn mentions.
That aside, these two have a mutually known asshole who has inconvenienced them both at the end of their careers in the Empire, and it's none other than Director Orson Callan Krennic.
After a solid half hour of Drame'eros listing names and showing photos/files of the people she's talking to Thrawn about, she finally drops Krennic into the conversation.
