Jack hated being wrong. But more than that, he hated getting called out online for being wrong. Unfortunately, the nature of an incredibly popular podcast required a flock of know-it-all’s correcting every damn word out of Jack’s mouth on twitter, reddit, instagram, his email, everywhere. It was inescapable.

Maybe it was because he was having a particularly manic week and he didn’t have a video game to fixate on, but on this particular day he found himself scouring the law section of the library to find esoteric laws to prove that something he’d said in the most recent episode of his podcast was right. He was getting really sick of @ohioongod on twitter getting on his ass about the difference between libel vs. slander. He was ready to fight about it, with evidence to back him up.

“No. No. No.” He flipped through huge volumes, speaking at a level quite inappropriate for the library, all the while not really knowing what he was looking for, just vaguely flipping through text to find anything that caught his eye.
