Searching for the kid turns out to be a lot more difficult than Ironhide had expected.
Trying the mostly-legal way almost gets Ironhide, or rather Iaan Hyde, arrested - turns out the human authorities don’t like it when you snoop around for info on wanted fugitives, especially when you yourself closely resemble another supposedly dead wanted fugitive. And the endeavor ends up being a waste of time. The only information he gets just confirms the rumors he’s been hearing.
The Witwicky family is dead, only one survivor. And the kid’s running.
Ironhide still has no idea which one it is.
He doesn’t like either possibility.
His latest lead has taken him back to Mission City. It’s almost poetic. A lot of it is still in ruins, despite the time that’s passed, but as far as hiding places go it isn’t a bad one. There’s little to no human presence, TRF or otherwise, and it’s safe enough Ironhide’s heard of rogues passing through and staying in the ruins. Nevertheless, Ironhide still feels on edge as he slips through the empty streets, using what little cover he can as he searches for any signs of life. His sources said the kid might be here, and Ironhide has his doubts - but he can’t help but hope nonetheless.
