I...I really think PB should have gone the accidental artificial insemenation route with Baby Bump.

The way they wrote the story disregards lesbian readers so much. From the very beginning of the story, the MC cannot be a lesbian. If they had done artificial insemenation instead, we could have a story more open to WLW.

I understand why people are angry about the marketing and premise behind Baby Bump but I just want to make sure people don’t forget that bisexual women and lesbians who realize their sexuality later in life also exist as well as pre surgery trans women who can still get people pregnant without identifying as a man. There’s a lot of directions pb can still go with this book concerning wlw.

I know Baby Bump doesn’t look good but we’ve been wrong about a lot of books before and we shouldn’t judge books before we’ve gotten to the third chapter or so, when all the LIs have been introduced and we start the plot. We all thought MOTY, Platinum, and ROD would be bad but they proved us wrong. And books can both get worse and get better, ATV had an amazing start and completely went off the rails.

So basically I know we don’t have high expectations but other than the completely valid complaints about (1) the lack of a female LIs in the marketing, (2) the oversaturation of motherhood books recently, and (3) the possible use of OH faces again, don’t assume it’ll be another Sunkissed. High hopes, low expectations, don’t assume we know how good it will be before it’s released. It could surprise us, if probably won’t, but don’t decide on it yet.

Hmm looks like we’re finally getting some Monday books again, I wonder if it’s just going to be this book or if they’re going to start shifting which days books come out again by adding in more new books with different release days
