Sundown and the pans were out! There were a variety of amateur ingredients and condiments out, adorning the wall like prized spices and wine bottles. Well, he had to make due with them, nonetheless, since he doubted he had the right permission to dig through Miss Clementine’s cabinets. Though-- to be completely crass-- he wondered if Miss Clementine would ever even miss them, since she was more of the ‘point-and-lecture’ type of instructor than the ‘demonstration’ kind. But never mind that-- so long as he had his hands on a pan and cooking wine, he could probably make something worth his while.
“Pre-heat the oven, warm up the pans, boil, oil and flambé.” That was the plan for tonight. Jamie was running low on dishes to pack in his mini-fridge, anyway, so he had finished up work a bit early to prepare some meals for the next few days. He had brought his own frozen shrimp and scallops, and had a pot out to boil some pasta. Whistling quietly between his teeth, Jamie pulled out a noodle sieve from the drawers and set out to work. The salt water hissed and cooed, bubbling in satisfaction as he dropped the angel hair in. If anything, cooking was like stirring a witch’s pot, with magic and passion the source of all taste.
“...Though passion can only get you so far on sub-par ingredients, I’ll have to make do--” he grumbled for no one to hear.
Just as soon as he was hitting a good groove, Jamie nearly dropped his pan at the sight of someone striding in without a shitty care in the world. Shooting the guy a dirty look, he took to preoccupying himself with thawing out the seafood. It wasn’t like the kitchen was his, so he couldn’t even protest. The guy didn’t look like he was going to wait for Jamie to finish before starting, either. He wasn’t even in cooking class, so what the fuck was that guy doing here? Impeding on his cooking time like this...
Jamie could feel his mood spoil over.
