Blurb: It's late. You're tired but in denial, and scrolling on your phone but Jesus knows what's up and so does your body. After hours of procrastinating sleep, you finally admit you're exhausted.
“Just sleep, child,” Jesus scoffed, clearly amused at how hard you were trying to stay awake. “I know you're tired, and so do you.” You blinked. Ah, He was right. Your eyes were somewhat scratchy and growing heavier by the minute. The warm blankets covering your body were only giving you more comfort and security to safely drift off. You took one of your biggest pillows and placed it next to you. But your phone was still in your hand. You were fighting your sleep—as if you'd win a prize if you dragged it out to stay up the longest. “You're not gonna miss out on anything,” the Lord said, looking at you with fondness in His eyes from above. “Remember what I said in My Word? There's a time for everything. That includes a time to be awake and a time to sleep.” The Good Shepherd was talking about Ecclesiastes 3. For everything, there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest. A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a time to build up. You shook your head to clear your mind from the internal Bible montage. Jesus was right again. When was He ever not right? Never. “I made human bodies in such a way that you could enjoy rest and replenish your strength, dear one,” He continued, sending a wave of love and peace into your heart. “There's nothing to fear when I'm watching over you. I stand beside you—as your protective shade,” Jesus assured, His voice firm and kind. “The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night. I will keep you from all harm.” Relief washed over you. You couldn't see His face, but you knew He was there, and that soothed you. You knew His words were true. He never lied to you before and had proven you wrong time and time again. You had been watching anime for two hours now, and after that, you grew bored, so you started scrolling on a reading website—maybe some social media app too; anything really to distract you and keep your mind captive. And there was no real reason other than avoiding slumber. “You're right, Lord,” you sighed and put your phone down on the pillow next to you. “I—I don't even know why I'm like this; it's dumb.” “It is,” He hummed, and the sound sent pleasant vibrations through your body. You laughed. “Father, You're not supposed to agree with me!” The Lord was never one to lie, nor hold back His true opinion—but He was always gentle when responding, you learned. You could feel His gaze soften. And suddenly, you had the urge to pray. It was your nightly ritual. You didn't get out of bed—you stayed tucked under the covers, folded your hands, closed your eyes, and prayed, “Our Father who art in heaven…” It brought you great comfort to pray—it made your heart glad. Suddenly, there was a bright light shining from above. Someone in a white robe—a heavenly being—now stood in your bedroom. Your heartbeat sped up, but not out of fear. “Jesus,” you whispered, and He gave a cute little wave. You were so incredibly happy. He's here! “Time for bed now, precious,” He tucked the blankets snug around you so that it felt like a hug. “I will make you lie down in green pastures and lead you beside quiet waters. I will refresh your soul.” You felt your eyes grow droopy as He spoke Psalm 23:2. Warm. Safe. Loved. A lethal combo for sleep. When your eyes closed, He gave your head an affectionate brush. “Sleep well, dear child of Mine,” a barely-there touch tingled your forehead. “Have good dreams, and remember, I love you.” You were drifting off before He vanished from the physical world, but you knew He was still present in the spirit. And that's all that mattered. That Jesus was always there, even if you didn't see Him. Good night.

aight let’s strap in and have this conversation:
read my whole post before fighting me you fool
If the world was rewritten and Paganism was always the dominant religion over Christianity, we would still have the same issues we do with religion in our society and this IS a hill I will die on.
If Paganism was the dominant religion, it would be institutionalized. If Paganism was the dominant religion, it would be exploited. If Paganism was the dominant religion, it would be used by the worst people to justify their own actions. That’s the reality of it.
The religion itself is not the cause of the issue, it is merely a tool for control. If you have one religion that people flock to more than others, it doesn’t matter what that religion believes, people are going to take advantage of it.
We probably wouldn’t have the exact same issues as we do now with Christianity, as the faiths are pretty different from each other in what they practice and believe. But there would certainly still be problems, because unfortunately that’s just how people work.
This isn’t some anti-religion, anti-Christian, or anti-Pagan ramble; I think religion is a beautiful thing, but we have to acknowledge that having an extremely dominant religion and institutionalizing it is a bad thing no matter what the core beliefs are.
In conclusion: people suck and they ruin things, replacing what they ruin with something else won’t undo the damage it just makes it look different.
TIL how Christians has Globally Bullied a female Pop Group into obscurity because they thought a song, "Asereje" also known as "The Ketchup song" is a song of the Devil when it is infact just a song about a dude singing and asking the DJ to play Rapper's Delight.

I'm not really apart of the Christianity Fandom; who's this God Bible person? Sounds cool with His neopronouns and all. I hear he loves everyone or something. Bi icon, he is.
