In the glasshouse corridor at Cambridge Botanic Garden, UK, a hanging basket of Schlumbergera × buckleyi (Christmas cactus) is flowering. This plant is a hybrid between Schlumbergera truncata and Schlumbergera russelliana, both epiphytes from the forests of Brazil. It grows best in well-drained compost in bright light but not direct sunlight and with a minimum temperature of 10°C.

Christmas Cactus (probably Schlumbergera cultivar). I routinely killed these in my younger days because I treated them like my other cacti.
