One thing I want to see in Unrivaled is Shane planning Tanner Dillon's death, he's going to understand why Ilya was smoking weed between loses, holy shit he cannot believe this man is a professional hockey player, much less what is he doing in his line.

i think i've fully lost the plot, because i had the thought that the hollanov trilogy within the game changers series is actually the divine comedy with heated rivalry as inferno, the long game as purgatorio and unrivaled as paradiso. i want to say i'm joking but maybe i'm kinda not?

in heated rivalry they spend the better part of a decade trying to climb out of situationship hell, in the long game their relationship is literally in limbo as they're together but not able to be out and public, and then in unrivaled they're finally happily married and on the same team. which compared to everything else they've gone through? this is their heaven.

now that they had so much time together and have way more ahead of them, they don't feel aggressively horny 24/7. they're just really domestic and romantic all the fucking time now. their friends, especially their single friends (idk who they would be this far down in the timeline) don't know which is worse because they are literally obsessed with each other. shane and ilya, having gone to therapy and couples therapy (multiple times, having stopped and returned because of Things), know damn well that they're their own individual people and not just half of a whole (thanks chanse mccrary), but they're still grossly emotionally codependent. they're able to be separate when they have to be, they can give themselves and each other alone time, but they're just happier with each other on average. also, they still have sex but it's so much more romantic and emotionally intimate and frankly better now even if they don't have the strength or endurance of their 20s. also, old man yaoi. thank you for coming to this taks talks

UNRIVALED HOPES AND DREAMS

•ilya keeps centaurs captaincy. he's the one who put his career on the line to join first, he's the one who rallied the team to get to playoffs, he's the one who defended the centaurs and loved his team even when they were losing. he deserves this.

•shane and hayden chatting together at center ice during warm-ups before their first game against each other. ilya snows hayden.

•we all know ilya and cliff have been buddying up during fights since ilya left boston, but now shane and hayden get to do it too. the other always comes to drag them away from bestie.

•shane quickly warming up to luca because he's an ilya fanboy BUT ALSO being a lil jealous.

•shane and ilya arriving at practice before anyone else, working together seamlessly as well as competing against each other HARD. locked in, they don't notice as everyone else arrives and they just stand there watching them, bewildered. harris, of course, films it. coach can feel the banner ceremony in the air.

•anya and chiron running around the ice with the team for their promo stuff.

•yuna publicly referring to hollanov as her children.

•ilya gets rid of his middle name and adds hollander.

•asshole commissioner gets fired. preferrebly in a ridiculously big way, huge scandal, can't show his face outside.

•MC reunion either at the summer camps or an event for the organization scott mentioned building. they play together and it's fucking awesome.

•ilya gets hurt (nothing major, just has to rest) so shane gets put on 1st line and he's ABSOLUTELY LIVID. LOCKED. THE. FUCK. IN. hat trick. stares down the player who checked ilya after each goal.
