The skin on my cheeks is slightly uneven in texture - nothing horrible, but it's not as smooth as say my forehead. When I apply blush, it always looks really patchy and rosacea-ish. I've tried using multiple different types of brushes and a wide variety of shades, but the result is still blotchy and uneven? Any ideas? :)
Sounds like dryness. Try exfoliating.
And by exfoliating I don't mean using a face wash that has "micro granules" in it. Those are rarely effective. Use a toothbrush that has super soft bristles. The ones designed for babies are the best. Gently exfoliate with it in soft circular motions for one to two minutes, using a moisturizing cleanser. Do this twice a week and you should notice a major difference. If not, come back and let us know and we'll see if we can come up with a better solution.
As for blush... powder formulas will only accentuate any dry spots on the face. Perhaps you may want to switch to a cream formula? Cream blushes look a lot more natural.
