CHRISTOPHER ROBIN (2018) Avis aux nostalgiques de WINNIE L’OURSON, DISNEY revient avec un énième live-action similaire à HOOK (1991) dans sa temporalité post-conte: CHRISTOPHER ROBIN est un film de Marc Forster -l’ignoble arnaque WORLD WAR Z (2013) et le très moyen QUANTUM OF SOLACE (2008)-, qui dépeint les retrouvailles du célèbre nounours et de son ami humain -ce dernier donnant son titre au long-métrage- ayant perdu son imagination, étant devenu adulte. Plutôt bien réalisé, CHRISTOPHER ROBIN a beau intégrer l’excellent Ewan McGregor en premier rôle, le coup est dur pour les aficionados du dessin animé, qui eut droit à une magnifique adaptation en 2011 -WINNIE THE POOH, rétro et adorable-, découvrant enfin leurs “icônes” d’enfance en mode photoréaliste/ Le bât blesse, avec un Winnie bien creepy niveau design -avis subjectif-, et un Tigrou vieux et dépareillé moins amusant que dans nos souvenirs. Laissant Maître Hibou et Coco Lapin -eux demeurant de véritables animaux (???) dans leur monde, la team animale et Christopher Robin -Jean-Christophe en VF- vont se retrouver, pour glorifier la thématique bon enfant inhérente à Disney et ses habituels gimmicks familiaux: mais alors, est-ce que l’imaginaire de ce jeune garçon devenu un père dévoré par son travail existe vraiment, si c’est pour finalement inviter d’autres humains dans cet univers très personnel? Titillant la fibre nostalgique de ses spectatrices et spectateurs les plus sensibles, CHRISTOPHER ROBIN leur fera couler une larmichette; quant aux autres, qui attendaient un bel effort à la THE JUNGLE BOOK (2016), ils seront déçus... Si vous tenez un tant soit peu à l’ourson bêta avide de miel, ou aux adaptations/suites live-action de qualité, préférez-y THE JUNGLE BOOK version 2016, WINNIE THE POOH en animé de 2011, ou encore la suite de PETER PAN (1953), l’indétrônable HOOK. No one on their deathbed says "I wish I'd spent more time in the office" sums up the message of 'Christopher Robin' - which I watched last week. The grown up Christopher (Ewan McGregor) has lost his childhood whimsy and neglects his family for his job - but Pooh comes back to save him! Looking at my wife and grown up daughters sat next to me in the cinema reminded me that I have often been as guilty as Christopher & of the need to strive for both the secular work/life balance and the Judeo-Christian 'Sabbath' - God rested on the 7th day because he also wants us to!
