chrom grinned. june 6th was upon him yet again, his favorite day of the year, for reasons only he could understand. as he tiptoed soundlessly up the stairs and slid into his brother’s room, he felt his excitement come to a peak.

there he was - his younger brother roy, dead asleep and drooling sloppily onto his pillow. it was still an hour before he had to get up for school…oh man, this was going to be so good.

"rise and shine!" with a single motion, chrom yanked roy’s quilt out from under him and sent his brother spiraling onto the floor, where he proceded to sputter in shock. looking up at his older brother, the redhead’s expression quickly changed from bafflement to rage. 

"chrom," he growled, "what the hell is your problem?” 

chrom smiled widely. “just thought i’d wish my favorite little brother a happy sixteenth birthday! come on, roy, don’t give me that look, it’s a birthday tradition!” 

"a ‘birthday tradition’ is about to be me sleeping with my door locked," roy grumbled, shooting chrom a dirty look and shakily pushing himself to his feet. chrom sighed.

"okay, okay, fair enough. will you be slightly less pissed at me when you find out that i made you birthday pancakes?" roy paused and turned tiredly to his brother, a half smile on his face.

"alright, fine. but only if they’re chocolate chip."
