Introducing.... CHRONOLOCK!
A Firefox extension that lets you filter Youtube by time.
It's simple: You pick a cutoff year (like 2012, 2016, whatever year you feel especially nostalgic for), and anything newer than that either disappears, fades, or is dimmed. You do not have to be inundated with new content 24/7 anymore!
It doesn't download anything, it doesn't track anything, it doesn't try to be too smart about it. It just looks at video metadata and doesn't show you stuff beyond a certain point.
Right now, I'm still waiting on Firefox add-ons approval, but the code is up on GitHub if you want to try it early or just mess with it.
Eventually, it'll be right here on the Firefox add-ons store under "ChronoLock"
It is janky, I will warn you. But it works enough for me for now, and I haven't seen anything else like this out there so I wanted to share the thing :>
Edit to add: While ChronoLock runs alone, I like to pair it with YouTube Redux for peak nostalgia. It also is just way less visually cluttered than the modern YouTube layout is!
