Ok, I'm with you on the worrying about this type of Bucky sticking around post-SW. It just read to me that they were talking about an AU!Bucky being in this (like teen!WS), not 616!Bucky

Yeah that’s my biggest concern. With everything they’ve done to Tony lately while claiming it’s HOW HE REALLY WAS ALL ALONG, FOLKS, my kneejerk reaction is gonna be “jesus christ, THIS AGAIN” when they start painting my heroes with the villain brush. I haven’t read a ton of blurbs/newsbits on other au’s but the lack of talking about the world they came from is what makes me think it’s 616. 

I totally agree that it’s unclear tho and while an AU still worries me, I find it a lot less disturbing than them re-writing 616 Bucky. I just hope they don’t enjoy antihero Bucky more and stick with him, and given the other choices they’ve been making....well. We’ll just have to see. :/

I still don't see why everyone thinks they're talking about 616!Bucky. Nothing in that interview makes it sound like they're talking about him

Reading it again and that’s just the implication I get since they never say anything like “the world they’re from” or whatever. But admittedly, I’m really not up on the battleworld premise and all this talk of the Shield and dominions has me lost. 

In the end tho, my issue is still as I stated in another post. Given marvels explanation of this whole universe smashup (shoddy tho it may be >.>), my understanding is that some of the 616 characters will fall by the wayside while some of their AU counterparts will step into the new universe going forward as THE version of that character. So as fun as the AU’s are and I’m sure most will not pan out...these AU characters are ALL candidates for being the ONLY version we get after this all shakes out. So in that respect I find it worrisome. 

And on a more abstract level I just find it to be a boring take on the character that undermines everything good Bru did with him. So either way....I’m just not thrilled with the idea of Dark Hateful Bucky.

I only had the chance to read one mini bang fic and just a handful of drabbles. ngl, I'm sorta happy this the last day so I'll actually have time to go and read everything XD

I BET OMG you’ve done so much all week. It’s been really great. I didn’t have a chance to look at anything last year and barely managed my posts, but it feels like this year was a lot more active!

Thanks for putting this all together, it’s been fantastic omg I’m just gonna spend all day rolling around in it :3

god, I kinda just want them to not have an romance in it at all because I don’t even want to deal with that (of course, nothing could be worst than what they did with the New Avengers novel =/)

SAME this is why I was hoping that natasha wouldn't have a romance subplot in any movie, ever, until like the 3rd film of her own trilogy or something but whatever joss whedon.

also the new avengers novel is an embarrassment to clintasha fic writers everywhere because I have read easily dozens of clintasha fics that have a better grasp of both comics and film canon, characterization, and how to write sex scenes than the person who wrote the new avengers novel.

tbh I still wonder if Disney’s playing a role in the fact we don’t have a BW movie, since the whole reason they bought Marvel was specifically to increase their male viewership

yeah I'm wondering the same thing tbh. obviously at the start that was the reason, but now post-avengers, with this being a multi-billion dollar international franchise that has gone beyond gendered toy sales it seems foolish to limit themselves like this. like seriously, disney, you've got little girls and little boys on lockdown, focus on teen girls because they go hard
