Just what sort of handsome, witty, and charming gentleman would Hawke be if he didn’t pick up a little gift for one Miss Rosaline on Valentine’s Day? Not a very good one, but fortunately enough for her (and the city, but all of this is very debatable), he is nothing if not the epitome of class, etiquette, and whatever other purple prose can be used to describe a distinguished man of high standing. Delivered to her doorstep is a box of chocolates with an accompanying card, neatly affixed to the box’s surface. It reads:
“Do you know what’s really great? Chocolate. Do you know what’s even better? Alcohol. Now, what could possibly best even that, you ask? Why, chocolate and alcohol! Or specifically, chocolates made with alcohol, creating a gift that befits only the most lady-like of ladies–which is to say, a fine woman who can appreciate the finer aspects of life, specifically in the form of alcoholic chocolate. (If it wasn’t obvious by now, I’m absolutely thrilled by this discovery still. If the scientists offered me these instead of whisking me away without permission, I just might’ve willingly gone along, no kidnapping or any other illegal stunt involved.)
I hope these suit your taste. If not, well–at least they’re rather pretty. They’d make for good decorations if they weren’t, you know. Chocolate.
Enjoy!

“Huh.”
Valentine's Day had always been a little beyond Rosa's grasp. She knew the gist of the holiday, certainly (she would've had to live under a rock not to) but she'd never had much call to celebrate before. It made her feel a little guilty to receive these kinds of gifts when she had nothing on hand with which to reciprocate. She could only pray that her benefactor was the kind who didn't count favors too strictly. Rosa hated how she couldn't help but think of it that way.
I'll figure out something, she thought. Hoped, at least.
That said, Garrett had damned good taste even if he was a wordy son of a gun. Rosa was grateful to have made a friend who talked enough so that she didn’t have to. A faint smile tugged at her lips as she read his note. It would be a struggle for sure, but she was going to try to pace herself on these babies-- the key word here being try.
“Are you wearing my shirt?”
“Am I?”
Oh.
“Okay, wait a minute, it looked enough like mine. Okay? I got ‘em confused. Don’t go blaming the woman with one eye, what kind of guy are you.”

💔 ━ "Are... are you okay?"
It was the wooden staff that initially caught Ritsuka's attention. He was normally more cautious with strangers, but this man had a particular look to him that he couldn't exactly place. He was curious.
