It had been the afternoon of the ball and Ciara had been putting the last touches on her dress. Occupied and with needles in her mouth it was her servant who answered when there was a knock. It was the blacksmith, he had brought her one the items she had asked him to make. Whilst paying him the gold they began talking about the ball. Which is when Ciara suggested he came with her. It was a shame he couldn’t attend because of who he was. Besides, she knew it would annoy her father if she attended with a man he didn’t know.
Promising to send some appropriate clothes and a mask to his shed they made plans to meet outside the ballroom later that day.
Stood outside wearing her purple dress adorned with flowers Ciara kept an eye out for Declan. Fortunately, she knew what he would be wearing. Spotting the blacksmith Ciara waved him over with a smile. “I’m glad you decided to come,” She said in greeting. Part of her had been expecting him not to turn up. “Shall we?” She asked, holding out her arm. @declanmendoza
