THE airport was crowded, swarming with people toting luggages of various colors and sizes. Sometimes Nessa would be shoved by these people, them being far to eager to get home or to their hotels to even mutter an apology. She found herself not caring in that moment, however, far more interested in finding her man, one who had been gone for only a few weeks for business, and yet it felt like an eternity for the human girl.
Although the elemental was quiet by nature, his absence brought a silence that was loud and lonely in Nessa’s ears. The bed was far too cold without the warmth of the fire man. And don’t get her started on the lack of food sizzling in a skillet or being prepared on the kitchen counter. She herself owned the culinary skills of a toddler, and was found those empty nights slurping ramen noodles right out of the cup dejectedly.
But now Grillby was finally coming home, and she couldn’t be any more eager to rush into a cozy embrace. Hands trembled softly as he gripped the sign a little harder, her curly and bubbly handwriting, reading “WELCOME HOME, FIRE-BOY ♥”. Crude drawings of her and Grillby smiling and holding hands surrounded the words— a touch Nessa had thought about at the last minute, but figured it would be easier to find her boyfriend this way.

Good food, warm atmosphere, and plenty of friendly folks. Thats what was loved about the place known as Grillbys. Even many enjoyed the company of the owner, especially a tiny, little monster.
The door was pushed open by the little, white furred monster with a backpack slung onto her back, having come back from school for her after school treat. A peppermint milkshake, specifically made by the bartender himself. She looked up with a smile and greeted the older monsters as she passed, giggling with a skip in her step. Someone was in a happy mood.
Struggling to get up onto the bar stool, Poppy squirmed a bit before pulling herself up, plopping on the cushion and wrapping her long tail around the stool. She pulled her backpack off to pull out papers, grinning with such joy.
“Hiya Mr. Grillby...um..c...can I get a peppermint milkshake please?”
