Review: I didn’t expect to cry as much as I did. I mean I was expecting to cry, but not this much. I’m not sure how this would be received from the intended audience but to me the story was so obviously tragic and also healing. The perspective was so well done from what I can tell because Della’s perspective is so limited and it leads her to some sad but, considering her knowledge, understandable conclusions. This is a wonderfully written, deeply emotional book and I have a lot of feelings.
Favorite Quote: “No sickness in the world could make my mama’s love for us less real. And none of us had to get through any of it on our own.”
