I see what you’re doing, Sueños 👀.
1. Thank you.
2. WHY DID YOU CHOOSE VIOLENCE WITH THIS PARALLEL?!?!
parallels in a film or series are the basis of cinematic language. When there was no digital technology yet, they shot on film which was very expensive, so every scene shot had to make sense. We often watch movies superficially, without dwelling too much but it would be enough to linger a second longer to see what the director wants to communicate to us. A movie is a story told through images, although the first films were silent, audio came later and often confuses and distracts us. An example that comes to mind is on “call me by your name” by Guadagnino , the scene of the wreck in which Oliver caresses the face and lingers on the statue's lips in the same way he will then linger on Elio's lips before kissing him. It's a small thing, but it's there and it says a world of thoughts about Oliver.
all this to say that, all the theories that I have read in these two years on stranger things regarding the parallels, start from a correct assumption and that is that what we see always has a meaning in the director's mind and I think we have understood this whatever it is, I am 100% convinced that we are not wrong.
