Why? Red is often meant to represent power, either in the character or symbolic of repressive infrastructure. Green is believed to embody the unlocking liberation from this, and equality. Together the colours culminate in a complementary relationship which is both generally aesthetically pleasing due to the contrast, and symbolic of the complexities of queer cinema, where neither character or shade is confined to positive or negative masculine or feminine identities and traits, but more possess a deep embrace of both.
