#UnitedStates #Circa1960 Regional artist #DavidAlexick received his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from #RichmondProfessionalInstitute (#VirginiaCommonwealthUniversity) and his Masters of Fine Art from Virginia Commonwealth University. During his time at RPI from 1960 to 1966 Alexick painted the oil on canvas "Still Life". The strong influences of Theresa Pollak, founder and instructor of the School of The Arts at V.C.U. is clearly evident in this work in the rendering of the figures and the plant form. Theresa Pollak's vibrant color palette and abstraction after studying with noted painter Hans Hoffman is also quite evident in Alexick's painting technique. David received his PHD from Pennsylvania State University. David Alexick has exhibited in many solo and group shows in the Mid-Atlantic region and is Professor Emeritus of Fine Art at #ChristopherNewportUniversity in Newport News, Virginia. He currently resides in Newport News, Virginia. The painting "Still Life" is signed and titled on verso.
