Citroen’s crossover concept called Aircross looks familiar, yet interesting. Debuted at Auto Shanghai 2015, it seems this futuristic looking vehicle is meant, and capable, to face the Nissan Qashqai rival. The current Citroen C4 Aircross model was based on the Mitsubishi ASX, but the French company was thinking about replacing it with a home-designed creation.
Riding on 22-inch wheels, the concept boasts evil-looking squinting eyes, black body armor and offroad tires. The Citroen Aircross also shows off a set of coach rear doors and the lack of a B-pillar. Furthermore, the Aircross is designed to run only electric power, if the driver so desires; powering it up is a 1.6-liter turbo engine (220 hp) working alongside a rear-mounted electric motor (95 hp), making this 315 all-wheel drive car sound amazing.
Similar to other plug-in hybrids, the Aircross features a built-in lithium-ion battery pack, which allows for a 31 miles (50 km) electric range. so, this c concept is green; big news. But it’s speed we’re usually interested, and you should know that the concept supposedly does 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds – which is BMW M3 numbers.
Inside the cabin, different types of fabric materials were combined to offer passengers a funky look. The C4 Cactus seems to have inspired everything, with the steering wheel and the screens designed the same way. Citroen also installed dual 12-inch high-definition displays, as well as seat speakers and microphone, for some exciting conversations. Here’s hoping the production model is as funky as this!
