Rachel uses salvaged and reclaimed wood in most of her wands and then turns them on a lathe. She says, "I love the repurposing of materials, taking something someone was going to waste and giving it a new life. It's also a fantastic way to keep heirlooms. For instance, my brother has a wand crafted from the wood of his baby crib. My fantasy wands are created using wood, natural mineral crystals, various polymers, stains and paints. They take a minimum of 3 weeks to meticulously craft."
