I was here to tell a story. We all were. Instead, we got thrown into one of the most chaotic crossroads of our time - a time when truth is in a flux of doubt and trust, a time when truth is so fragile, a time when truth needs disclaimers and explanations. But in the end, that's what made the journey so much more worth it. And I couldn't have done it with a better, braver team of journalists. Here's to the class of 2017. As we go on, I hope you remember that we lived, learned, practiced journalism at a time when it was at its most fragile - and I hope we go on to make it stronger, braver, and redefine it as the example of truth it has always been. With a grateful heart I say thanks to every good wish and all the love you have bestowed upon me today. This year has been a relay marathon of epic proportions, with my friends and family all taking turns to run a little bit, to make the challenges a little less daunting. That said, the marathon isn't over, nor should it ever be, and I've picked up a couple of extra life athletes along the way. And tonight, as is custom on graduation day, the Empire State Building is lit with the colors of Columbia University, of which I am now a very proud and extremely overwhelmed graduate.
