our obsession with deeper meaning is very telling. sometimes a cat is just a cat, but no! it has to be more, because we fear that life doesn’t have a deeper meaning. sometimes life is just for living (or in some cases dying). we have no control over whether there is some purpose to life, so we control what we can. our obsession with the arts stems from the life that is portrayed with multiple meanings, something we hope to, but can never achieve.
