Who is the coolest person you’ve ever met? Being cool is a strange term. I don’t mean cool in the trendy sense of the word, I mean really cool. The kind of cool that spreads an air of ease, a sense of truth and an undeniable presence. 

I’ve met a handful of truly cool people in my time and one of those is Jazzie B from Soul II Soul. His individual style is head turning and when you speak to him you feel like it’s coming from a good place.

My debut on BBC 6Music News with Radcliffe and Maconie. I enjoyed talking to them about Glastonbury, Unsound Festival and Pink Floyd's Roger Waters. It was a nerve wracking moment when they gave me my nickname but I think I got off lightly. Phew.

Articulate, intelligent, honest. Dizzee Rascal is a pleasure to talk to, here we are chatting about the making of his album The Fifth.

We discussed collaborations, politics and ten years in the business. My sister was particularly excited when I said I was meeting him as she thinks he has a “nice look in his eye”. She isn’t wrong, I found him to be a great talker and someone who’s completely at ease.

I remember when his debut album Boy In Da Corner was due to be released, I was living in London and my housemate was seeing his manager at the time. I instantly liked what I heard and my friend assured me he was a nice lad too but I never got to actually meet him. Ten years later it was great to see he doesn’t appear to have changed a bit.

Here I am chatting with Leon Meya from Northern Uproar before their sell out gig with Proud Mary at Sound Control. It was a classic case of last minute interview, met him in the pub in the background and wandered outside for a chat. Shall we do it here? Why not.

Leon was so easy to talk to, so unassuming and so perfectly Manc. Back with a timeless sound that makes you want to crack open the beers. Their latest album a result of Pledgemusic proving they're a band people want stay around.
