This is the announcement teaser trailer for CLASS: ONGOING, our fan-made continuation to CLASS, the @doctorwho spin-off TV series created by Patrick Ness.

In 2021, we'll be launching a whole season of eight new prose and audiobook stories involving the gang fighting threats, investigating the Governors, and discovering the secrets of Coal Hill. We'll also be releasing regular tie-in stories for those who want to dive deeper!

Want to get an early glimpse? Check out "The New Year", a short story set during Series One, coming 31st December 2020.

That point about the figures being 'quantum locked' is very strong ammo towards that old theory of the Weeping Angels originating from ancient Gallifrey in some way.

"The Lonely Assassins, they used to be called. No one quite knows where they came from, but they're as old as the universe, or very nearly, and they have survived this long because they have the most perfect defence system ever evolved. They are quantum-locked."

"They will stand as monuments to their shame, like the Weeping Angels of old."

Also makes it intruiging that they'll be showing up in the next two episodes...

I realised I never got round to sharing this - I got the poster I did for @classongoing printed for my wall! Pretty proud of this thing.

Incidentally, sorry for the lack of content on this blog recently. When I get the time to work on fandom stuff outside of my course, a lot of it's going into this series. Can't wait till we can share more.

Finally, The New Year is here.

In the first teaser short story for Class: Ongoing, set between Brave-ish Heart and Detained, we get to catch a small glimpse at how everyone spends their New Year’s Eve.

This story is a collaborative work between Class: Ongoing writers @bazwillendinflames, @intuitive-revelations, and @tinybookgirl, with cover art by @liria10.

Woah! Doing some early planning for Class: Ongoing and noticed something I never realised before.

After For Tonight We Might Die, I made a post highlighting all the references on the Roll of Honours. One of these was A. Dunlop, seemingly the teacher from Magician’s Apprentice who fetched Clara, who apparently died sometime in the next year (but was for some reason listed on the board before Danny and Clara).

What I never realised, however, is that Dunlop is played by Aaron Neil, the same actor who plays Ram’s dad Varun.

I don’t know what to do with this information, but that’s wild! Multi-casting actors is common in Doctor Who (fun fact, Aaron Neil has also done a number of Big Finish stories) but this is a pretty major casting coincidence. This would imply that Ram was being taught by someone identical to his dad throughout secondary school.

On one hand, I’m now imagining a young Ram accidentally calling Dunlop ‘Dad’ during lessons and being hilariously embarrassed. On the other hand, I’m now wondering if there could be a deeper metatemporal meaning for this...

Just watched Class for the first time and wanted to see more- this blog hasn't posted since October 2022, is the project officially dead?

Hello! Matt (@intuitive-revelations) here. Welcome to the fandom!

Not officially 'dead', but admittedly in a deep coma right now. It's my fault, as it's been waiting on me completing episode 5, which has been stuck in development hell for a while as I've been busy with my PhD.

What little time I do have for writing nowadays is also currently going towards something a bit more professional/official that I'm very excited about, but hopefully that should be mostly done this month...

I have been thinking about Class: Ongoing recently though, so this ask came at a good time! Mainly thanks to renewing the classongoing.com url and internally debating whether to keep the Twitter "X" up after having deleted my own account.

While I'm not sure if I can promise episode 5 will be released in 2023 (I'm going to start my thesis in October, so who knows how much time I'll have), I think I can promise some new content of some sort this year? So watch this space I guess.
