I heard everyone was recommending you read War and Peace, and you are obviously not jazzed to do so. So I thought I would throw in my two cents: I hated War and Peace and Leo Tolstoy is a dick. That's all.

Always nice to hear an opinion from the other side of the room!

Much as I enjoyed parts of the recent BBC miniseries adaptation, I did kind of cock my head to one side at certain things which I presume are part of the plot/characterization in the novel, but that was a man writing in the 19th century so there’s bound to be some patriarchy going on there. The prose could be beautifully-rendered for all I know, but I’ll have to see if it makes it worth reading. That’ll be one to get at the library rather than buy outright, to be sure.

New Years Post: Part 1

Just a quick something for you all:

As you look back on 2014, realize this: If you did one thing, only one thing this whole year that made the world a little better for you--you had a good year.

No matter how much pain you felt, how much stress you fell apart under, how much you lost, or did not gain; if you bettered yourself for a moment, you did something great.

Maybe you found a new hobby, or completed a hard task, or simply read the best book of your life. That's enough.

There should be no pressure for you to achieve something miraculous for you to avoid "wasting" your year.

A year is  just a small piece of your life--and your life is the longest thing you will ever experience. Don't fret if you feel you should have done something more. There will be other years. Don't lament over what you failed to do, celebrate what you did do. If you are reading this, that means you woke up this morning, and sometimes that is enough.

Three things I can’t live without: iPad with the internet connection, books (all of them. I love them, they're my life, I couldn't throw them away), my lovely bed ^^. 
Something I plan on learning: as many languages as possible. Sculpting. And some astronomy. And classic literature. 
A piece of advice for all my followers: Do not set a hard metal song as your morning alarm. (Unless you sleep through 8 alarms you set. THen do that.)

Going on *sorta* hiatus

What do I mean by that?

For the next 8 days, I will be utterly swamped--School, auditions/call-backs, work, errands, meetings...

I have a lot. The madness hasn't even begun, and I'm already starting to stress.

This means I will not be very present on tumblr for the next week. You may see a reblog once in a while, but no long posts and generally, no dwelling on the website. If you send me a message I will probably see it, but don't expect an answer for a while.
