Smiles 4 Miles Dental Screenings

The Smiles 4 Miles program is completed in early learning centres and one key message is clean well and promoting the development of good oral hygiene practices from a young age.

The Clean Well messages for Clean Well include:

- Clean your child’s teeth and gums as soon as the first tooth appears, using a damp cloth or a small headed toothbrush

- from 18 months brush your child’s teeth with a pea size amount of low fluoride children’s toothpaste twice a day

- A child should have a dental check up by two years of age

The Health Promotion and Dental teams have been working together throughout term 3 and 4 to provide dental screenings to our early childhood centres in the Swan Hill Area.

These screenings highlight the importance of looking after your  baby teeth from a young age. Your baby teeth play an important role in the ability to eat, speech development, holding space and guide your adult teeth into position.

Must-Read: Triclosan

The only hand sanitizer you should be using

Sprout is one of our fabulous retail stores in San Francisco, and their blog post this week is an important one, all about the chemical Triclosan and why you should beware. Found in everything from dish soap to hand soap to hand sanitizers to cutting boards (!), Triclosan is just about everywhere, touting "antibacterial" powers. Like BPA, it's a controversial substance that has an overwhelming presence in the U.S. market, but is being slowly banned in the EU. (Countries like Norway, Great Britain and Denmark have taken steps in the past 10 years to remove Triclosan from their communities. Isn't is amazing how far the U.S. is always behind...?) Clean Well Hand Wipes

In my Natural VoxBox this time I got a sample of Clean Well's on the go hand wipes. These are pretty nice. They are portable and I can just throw it in my purse and call it good! Also they don't have any Alcohol in them, which I really like, they don't dry out your hands like a normal Antibacterial wipe. 

I used it on my son, on his face and it worked out great. I really did like it.

Okay, so I told you guys about my voxbox I recieved from influenster, remember? Well I am back today to talk to you about the CleanWell Natural Hand Sanitizer Wipes. They are one of the best hand sanitizing wipes I have tried! I am super obsessed with any sort of hand cleaning wipe I can put in my bookbag or in my purse. I am a freshman in college so obviously there are some pretty nasty places on campus.
