Lessons Learned: Job Hunting pt 1

As tiring and time consuming as job hunting is, I kinda get a rush from it, and even simply searching for jobs is providing me with tons of experience. Drafting several different cover letters at the same time, writing up a curriculum vitae, customizing resumes, actively pursuing leads, networking as much as possible. It's all an experience and one that should be enjoyed.

My 3 tips to anyone looking for a job (not that I am an expert or even at this point successful) is to:

1) Put all of yourself into the job search, people will be able to tell if you have no heart, especially HR employees. So make it count.

2) Don't be afraid to take chances or to allow that fear to prematurely disable you from pursuing jobs. If theres something you want, ask for it, if you get a no, ask for a new direction. I guarantee you won't look like a fool (unless you don't check for grammar).

3) Use all the resources you have available: the internet, friends, family or anyone in your extended network. Knowing someone who knows someone is half the battle and people are typically good hearted and always willing to help.

I'm sure there are a thousand of sites that will have the 10 easy steps to getting a job, or three things you must keep in mind, and those are probably much better than mine. All I know is things seem to be clicking, and regardless of how it turns out, I'll be better for it.
