70' Clipper @DareToLead recent winner of the latest #ClipperRace leg when here in #Sydney. Barebones racing yacht and home of 23 amateur sailors - functional design never looked so good. (at Cruising Yacht Club Of Australia)

Note middle hook in tether. These were Clipper crew tethers. Crew were required at all times (not just night time) to use jack lines with these tethers. #sailing #clipperrace In addition to the introduction of a qualified Mate, in December of 2017, and whilst investigations continue into the precise reason for failure of Simon Speirs’ safety tether, all safety tethers pictured here were replaced across the fleet. It all started with a bicycle I met these lovely Edinburgh folk cycling across south east Asia..and they become by biggest cheerleaders when I signed up for the #clipperrace. . I didn't expect that a year after my return they would have signed up for a few legs. I am incredibly proud to call them my friends and will be cheering these two on #nasdaq and #psp .
