Henry says that Istvan Toth is "about 40" when he's describing him to Otto von Bergow.
Sigismund is 35 in 1403 by the way.
He became King of Hungary in 1387 when he was 19 years old.
The Battle of Nicopolis was in 1396 - 7 years ago, when Sigismund was 28.
And incidentally the Battle of Kosovo was 14 years ago.
Wenceslas has been King of Bohemia since 1378 (when Sigismund was 10)
It's unclear when Istvan's parents were killed, but he says "I fought against the Turks until one day I ended up in Nicopolis." Sounds like he was at it for well over a decade. But the Battle of Nicopolis is when Istvan hitched his wagon to Sigismund's and became his fulltime bitch.
"I found [Erik] during a raid in Moravia." So I'm thinking that Istvan spent the early 90s fighting for Jobst in the Second Moravian Margrave War. That and his attachment to Sigismund explains why he spits whenever he mentions Jobst to Henry.
I'm actually starting to grok his position and he's still a fucking mangy bitch but I get where he's coming from and why he's so pissed at Henry (so now I can write better arguments). The Turks really freak him out.
All of this is to say that I'm developing a lot more empathy for the bullshit that's going on in Tamriel. At least Bohemia didn't have wizards.
