TITLE: Innocence Fades GENRE: Angst, fantasy/mythology, friendship, romance. WARNINGS: Um, not really. Except, if you’re not really into age gap-plots, I would advice strongly against this. It’s not Lolita-esque, but there’s definitely an obvious difference. SETTING: Olympus. INSPIRATION: Greek mythology, Beauty and the Beast (movie), Once Upon a Time (TV show), my own brain. PLOT:
Hades, the ruler of the Underworld, had always had one thing in his mind; death. When the kingdom was given to him, he had only been a fascinated, young boy, but over time, he developed an obsession with it, and he loved the power he was given - a power he thought superior to the rest of the gods’. He was always one to brag, so when he occasionally graced the Olympus with his visits, he would be sure to tell of his wits and superiority and of the dead soul’s fear of him. Cocky and loud, he didn’t notice how the other gods turned more and more silent during his talks. He liked the sound of his own voice too much to stop talking himself, and kept on blabbering.
Until one day when the gods threatened to take his powers away from him, if he didn’t accept an offer they had for him. Terrified of losing the only thing that mattered to him, Hades agreed. It was too late to refuse, when the gods stated that he was now in Demeter’s employment. The goddess of harvest wanted to show him life, after his eons with death being his only company, and she brought him to her garden in Olympus, where he was put to work. He had to care for the flowers - and that was not a task that Hades enjoyed. But he had been promised that it would only last a few decades.
During his first five years, he and Demeter were alone in the garden, although said goddess would mainly leave him to his own devices. The two squabbled a lot, and never seemed to agree. Therefore, Hades took it as a blessing when Demeter became pregnant, and she later gave birth to a baby girl. Happy to finally be all alone in the garden, he focused purely on the flowers, and ignored the house in the middle of it all, where Demeter raised her child.
Persephone came to the world in an awfully common way, considering her mother. But in spite of that, she was the prettiest babe in all the worlds. Her mother loved her instantly, and as she grew, she learned what it would say to be loved unconditionally. As a true goddess, Persephone quickly mirrored her mother’s smiles and her kindness, and she learned how to love everything around her. She also learned that the world was a dangerous but beautiful place, and that she was still too young to go out there.
Ten years, she was cooped up in there, and she longed to see the world. But she didn’t argue with her mother, and she waited patiently for the day, which came sooner than she expected. The garden was lovely, and after only a few days, she knew her way around the most of it. Still, she could be lost in the rose bushes, and then she thought she heard a sound close-by. But it must be the wind, she thought to herself, for no one was there.
It continued like that - warm, happy and never-ending summer days in the garden - for another eight years. By this time, Persephone was eighteen, and a grownup by human standards, but still very much a baby in the eyes of the other gods, who had lived for eons and eons. She didn’t appreciate their insistence that she was so young and childish, but she didn’t voice her complaints.
The day after she turned eighteen, something most odd happened. Where there had once been an empty garden, now a gardener was working there. Persephone observed him from a distance, and listened to the unholy words he spat out with curiosity and amusement. That was the first time she saw Hades, and only moments later, it became the first time they met.
In Persephone, Hades saw something to spoil and rot, something to darken and shape, and he took an immediate liking to her. Or, rather, he was immediately obsessed with the idea of bringing Demeter’s daughter into trouble. Naive and good-natured, Persephone had no idea about his intentions, and willingly became friends with him.

I would love love love to play Persephone, but I’m definitely willing to consider Hades, if you send me in a great app for her!
We can make this f/f if you want, but I think this one would be better m/f, due to the mythology, but idk, it could work.
