"So do you really believe in their tatcis?" Dipper was sitting on the moutain, not to far from his current hide out. Cloud king sitting next to him, watching the starry night sky. The trees below them, tall and dark, swayed in the wind. Little grasses and ferns. The full moon glistening, shooting stars whizzling past. The darkness around them staring at the two, one little blob of darkness hid underneath Dippers hand.
"Depends on how they execute it. I just hope it doesn't end in more war. We've had enough." The cloud king sighed, glancing over to Dipper. He couldn't get it out of his head, ever. Why was Dipper always on edge? Why did Dipper run away? How did a boy from the desert isle, become smarter then him. He- he who had studied for years, who's body inhabited a god full of ancient knowledge? How? Dipper always was so strong, so smart. He could easily best Amber in wits, and trick the gods to kill themselves. Yet he ran away to go bake apples and babysit mythical creatures. Hand clutched to the grass, he could see Dipper side eyeing him. A clap of thunder. The taller shrugged. "So what did you have to tell me? I know you don't ask me to come all the way out gere because you're worried about Ambers battle strategy."
The star child looked at him, starring. As if he wasn't ready, as if the words disappeared. Heart hammering in his chest, throat closing up. It didn't happen, he was normally calm. Maybe it was becasue he was being forced. Because he had to do it now, if he didn't then they might get themselves killed. Especially with his own plan. "You're right. I didn't come here to talk about Ambers stratgey. I came to talk to you about something imporant. Felix, I hope you realize that I only tell you this because I trust you, because I need someone to know. I need someone to save those idiots from getting everyone killed. Please understand."
Felix. Dipper didn't use his name unless it was a life or death situation. Usually it was his funny nicknames and monotone voice. But, Dipper was panicking. The way he twitched his hand, just slighty. The deep breaths and narrowed eyes. Sharp tone. What was Dipper planning? What big bomb did Dipper need to drop, for him to stand. For him to glare at him with those beautiful slitted, hazel eyes with little gold flecks. "Dipper I understand. Just tell me what it is. You're worrying me here."
"Okay. Okay. Felix you do realize they are going to The Arena. The place of death, where if you go in and betray them you never come back out? That this is a sign of betrayal and they will kill anyone who does so. They will hunt us down, thats if we survive the raid. Their plan won't work."
How did he know so much? What was Dipper getting at? The cloud kings own eyes narrowed. Head tiliting up, though it was normally a sign of disrespect or rebellion to the Chameleon people, Dipper understood what he was getting at. What the hell was saying? Explain to me. Show me what you are saying. The star child just sighed, shrugging his shoulders, little bright lights cascading down till it covered him completely.
"Felix, I remember you from long before you met the gang. Thats why I was so afraid when I saw you again. You looked like you recognized me and I panicked. I got ready to teleport away." Dipper wasn't done explaining, he probably never would finish the story. The light had slowly disappeared, the story had rushed back the kings memory. A gasp left him, eyes growing wide. Dipper couldn't get a sentence out.
"Oh no. Oh no, no, no, no. Im so sorry." It was quiet, hands trembling as he recognized the figure in front. Amazing what a little glamour could cover up. A small creature climbing from his wrist and going to sit on the Star childs shoulder. Black as night with bright green eyes, big ears and bat like wings. The scars he could see through the shirt, the somewhat bully figure and grim expression. As if he would attack at any mintue. Dipper was begging then, as he did now. He didn't- he didn't know. He didn't know. He never wanted Dipper to go through this. That explained the gust and familiarity he felt then. That explained the jumpyness. The knowledge. The battle edge, an experinced fighter in disguise.
"Felix its okay, relax. Its fine, you didn't know. You've changed and I forgive you, if you'll accept it." The star child had cross his arms, taking a step back. Standing on a little sqaure of light off the cliff. The gust whipping up even more now. All the king could do was nod, looking up at him completely heartbroken. He didn't deserve Dippers kindness. "Im going to get the souljem myself. Rowan said that I couldn't handle all of her power, but maybe I can handle a little bit. Espically now. So mashmellow, take care of my darlings while I'm gone. Make sure those dumbass' don't do something stupid while Im away."
And with that, the star child had disappeared into the night. Leaving a broken king to figure this all out.
