this is probably a super weird question to ask but did you make a post ages ago about how the edgier the name of a goth band is, the worse their music is, or was that somebody else? if it helps i remember the post specifically mentioned the birthday party as a good band

i do not remember at all, but it is a sentiment that i wholeheartedly agree with and whoever said it is a genius and probably has lots of friends so i hope it was me.

Usually I'm a grump about Black Friday in general but supporting indie record stores is one of my favorite things to do and today's a big day for them and for lots of bands with special items for sale. DEVO just put out this live set on wax from way back in the day and it's on beautiful translucent blue wax. It's a pretty beautifully mixed set of some of their best tracks from the first half of their career and it's a must-have for the DEVO collector in your life. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE DEVO ALBUM!? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Mine is Duty Now for the Future, unless we’re talking about Oh No, It’s Devo!, then it’s that one. Or sometimes it’s Freedom of Choice but also sometimes Are We Not Men…?. Honestly, I love them all. I am a card-carrying @clubdevo fanatic and have been rocking out to them since before I knew how to hold a guitar. We have one thing in common, too...we’ve both got 16k followers and still can’t get verified! I KID! (sort of lol). I’m feeling very fortunate to have an advance copy of this gorgeous RSD exclusive box-set early enough to take some tasty photos and tell you a little bit about what to expect and why you should absolutely hit your local independent record store on RSD this Saturday to score a copy. They’ve lovingly reissued each of their first 6 LPs all the way down to including the original fan club order forms with very, very outdated prices for t-shirts and Devo swag. Each album has beautiful colored vinyl to compliment the album artwork, and I can say with confidence that the remastering work has been done near FLAWLESSLY. I own OG pressings of four of these albums and they sound as good if not better, if we’re being real here. Really well mixed, nice and loud, and crystal clear. With RSD coming up in less than 48 hours, I hope you’ve already planned out your day and plan to support lots of independently owned stores by scoring your very own copies of the exclusives and rarities.
