Just some MID thoughts...
So, y'all. It's 2019.
Firstly Happy New Year, Clue Crew!
Next. The fandom has collectively been holding their breath since the fan letter was released promising MID's released in "spring 2019". As arbitrary as that is, let's look at some facts.
HeR was closed for the holidays from Christmas Eve until today, January 2nd. Upon inspecting the website, nothing has been updated. It even shows their games/digital merch sale of 25% off going until the first of the year.
Now given I am on EST and HeR is PST, they are about 3 hours behind me. So it is just now 10am for them.
With that being said, I suspect their website would be updated per sale and holiday greetings by the end of the day. Of course we'll probably get an email by the end of next week that advertises the next game Tess will stream.
LJ is going to be leaving for maternity leave soon, yes? I didn't get a chance to tune into the last stream.
So, that puts us about mid-January. Spring is March-June, it is also technically 58 days away. Since HeR likes to debut games in the "later" spring (like.. May-ish?) I would say we are less than 100 days for MID release, IF it happens.
In that 100 days we still need more information about the game, the MID website section needs an overhaul of information, a pre-sale, and order confirmation/shipping time.
That's a lot to do for a company that's been relatively silent the last 3 years. They're going to have to explain a lot to older fans and rekindle their sales with newer ones. I'm not saying it is impossible, but it is...unforeseeable.
