1. When have they been unable to save someone or something no matter how much they tried?

Her younger brother Kai is her biggest one. God, did Riley try to save him, but she was thrown off her bike and barely survived getting run over herself-- by the time she could react, all she could do was watch a gang of Raffen Shiv shoot him in the head execution-style. That memory haunted her so bad that she repressed it as soon as she could and never touched it for two years.

Jackie's death was also a big one. Evelyn and Scorpion's fates also haunt her, since a part of her feels directly responsible for bringing death to their doorsteps. To a lesser extent, Riley also mourns the death of her clan, even though that was greater scope. She's lost a decent amount, but her twin's death was the one that impacted her the most because she was just so close.

6. How far would they go to save someone they love? Would they sacrifice themselves? Others?

To the ends of the earth and back. Not even a question. Riley is, at her core, selfish, and will sacrifice whatever she needs to in order to make sure the people she loves are safe, even if it means sacrificing herself (which in her canon, she inevitably does).

17. What little regrets do they have?

She regrets coming to Night City somewhat: aside from wanting to run away from her problems and find herself, going to NC and becoming a rockerboy was a running fantasy of her brother's, and subconsciously Riley felt she owed it to him to go and experience the city for him since Kai no longer could. She regrets screaming at Jackie in the elevator when they were escaping Konpeki. And she desperately regrets that the last conversations she had with her mother and brother-- the only direct family she had-- were bitter fights where she said a lot of nasty shit she didn't take back, and that she never got the chance to make amends.

YES ok this is gonna be long but here's some "a paragon of her kind" quest details:

when returning to orzammar during the blight, she sided with harrowmont for 99% of the quest. stayed at his estate, convinced the populace of the truth behind trian's murder, etc. but at the crowning moment she hands it to bhelen.

she's v calculating and vengeful in that regard lol, she didn't just feel betrayed by bhelen, she felt betrayed by her entire kingdom. because she genuinely thought they were the honorable picturesque culture of "the last line of defense against the darkspawn" that they put on such a facade for, meanwhile there's so much corruption in the assembly that brothers are murdering brothers and betraying their sister to power climb. but that's exactly what endrin did too, and exactly the sort of shit that's been happening in orzammar for generations.

she thinks orzammar betrayed bhelen, too, in that regard

so she wanted to get back at it. throw bhelen to the wolves, make orzammar sit under a king they know for a fact to be a murderer that committed all sorts of treason and there's nothing they can do about it. it's them having to look at all the nasty dirt beneath orzammar's glittering gold that they try to hide/lock up in dust town. and they can't look away anymore, because it's sitting on their throne
