About the Tien thing, I think most of the explanation can be given just from way of kings. You know who Tien is and what he means to Kaladin. There's a point I believe in a later book where Kaladin realizes about someone else and their loved one, "_____ was _____'s Tien".

And for some reason which is quite opaque to me, it has suddenly become a meme in the last day or so now to spin off of this ig 😂
